CIRCLE OF SERVICE MONTHLY DUTIES

Each member (except President) will sign up for at least two months during the Kiwanis year, October – September. There will be at least three members each month.

 

Duties Include but are not limited to:

  1. Secure speakers for each club meeting and give introduction

  2. Invite to one meeting and introduce Veteran; get bio on his or her service

  3. Provide speaker information and topic to Clare or Al for posting on our web site (this should be done as early as possible)

  4. Greet members as they arrive

  5. Provide invocation

  6. Be responsible for inviting a guest to each meeting

  7. Communicate with Student of the Month Chairperson (Dick Weltzen) and acquire necessary biography for each student. Introduce Students of the Month during club meeting, present certificates to student (Clare provides), flowers to parent, have picture taken with student.

  8. Assist President whenever feasible, i.e. Crisis Nursery book for speaker to sign, membership booklet; set up for speaker; alert Doubletree if increased attendance

Affordable Housing Proposal (January 17, 2019)

The City of Rochester is looking to have up to 10 floors of housing constructed on top of a brand new 650 unit parking ramp.

This is in both a targeted census tract, an opportunity zone and a couple blocks from the Mayo Clinic. The city spent an addition $500k to ensure footings could serve up to 10 addition levels of housing.
